Scientist (f/m/x)

These are the tasks we trust in you:

• Develop and execute protocols for protein expression in prokaryotic (e.g., E. coli) and/or eukaryotic systems (e.g., yeast, insect cells). 
• Perform protein purification using chromatography techniques (affinity, IEX, SEC). 
• Conduct protein characterization and quality control, including SDS-PAGE, SEC, and UV/Vis. 
• Run or support ELISA assays and contribute to immunoassay development when needed. 
• Supervise and mentor a laboratory technician; assign and follow up on daily tasks. 
• Ensure proper documentation, lab organization, and adherence to SOPs. 
• Work closely with scientists and project managers to deliver high-quality data and material. 

To grow in this position, it requires the following:

• MSc or PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
• Minimum 3 years of practical lab experience in protein production and purification
• Familiarity with ELISA or other immunoassays is a must
• A background in veterinary science or interest in animal health applications is highly desirable
• Previous experience in supervising or mentoring junior staff is a plus. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Proactive and structured mindset, with a focus on reliability and quality
• Self-motivated, with a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Seeing change as opportunity and not as a threat

• You are rooted in Herzogenburg (Austria)
• We appreciate your expertise for 38,5 hours/week, full time, fixed-term contract for 6 months
• This position is available immediately however, we are happy to consider your notice period or your desired start date.
• Based on your professional experience and your qualification, we offer you an attractive total compensation package starting at gross annual € 45.000 base salary, plus attractive benefits.
